Pesantez explained that Tuarez would have “improperly” taken the name of President Lenin Moreno’s wife, Rocio Gonzalez.

The Legal Secretary of the Presidency, Johana Pesantez filed a complaint against the former president of the Council for Citizen Participation and Social Control (CPCCS), Jose Carlos Tuarez.

Pesantez explained that Tuarez would have “improperly” taken the name of President Lenin Moreno’s wife, Rocio Gonzalez.

Apparently, she said, “during those conversations -heard on social media and media outlets- it is mentioned that she would have had some kind of participation within this plot of alleged illicit association.”

“We are a transparent government. We need the Prosecutor’s Office to carry out all the necessary actions and the corresponding investigations,” Pesantez added.

Tuarez was arrested a few days ago for alleged illegal association and influence peddling.
