Ecuador wins 2 World Travel Awards

Ecuador won two awards: “South America’s Leading Green Hotel” and “South America’s Tourist Board” categories.

The Galapagos Islands and Guayaquil won at the World Travel Awards gala. This event is considered as the Oscars of the tourism industry, by the Wall Street Journal.

The event took place in the city of Muscat (Oman) on November 28. The ‘Pearl of the Pacific’ won the Tourist Board category. While Finch Bay hotel in the “Enchanted Islands” was named the Leading Green Hotel award.

Regional winners, who were decorated in Bolivia, on July 13, attended the gala held in the Arab country.

During this ceremony, Guayaquil won South America’s Leading Destination in Festivals and Events and South America’s Leading Business Destination. Galapagos also won as South America’s Leading Beach Destination.

In July 2019, Quito also received the “South America’s Leading Destination” award, while Cuenca won the “South America’s Leading City Vacation Destination.”
