For crimes of “inciting discord among citizens.
The radio station Pichincha Universal has received unofficial information that the Ecuadorian government would be issued a detention order for its director Washington Yepez for crimes of “inciting discord among citizens.”
The media outlet has played an important role in covering the ongoing protests against the International Monetary Fund (IMF) measures, which was imposed by Lenin Moreno’s government.
Hours before this, the radio’s offices were raided by the police and their transmitting equipment was seized, forcing them off air.
