Sonnenholzner says he will not run for president in 2021 elections

“I am not a good candidate. I do not know how to lie.”

The Vice President of Ecuador, Otto Sonnenholzner announced that he does not see himself as a candidate for the 2021 presidential elections.

A year before the beginning of electoral campaigns, political organizations are already analyzing possible scenarios and some politicians are already touring the country.

The ruling party considered the vice president as a possible candidate for the presidential elections in March 2021. However, “I am not a good candidate. I do not know how to lie,” he said.

Sonnenholzner assumed the vice presidency replacing Maria Alejandra Vicuña. “I considered this position with fear at first, but then I realized that it is an honor to serve.”

So far, Guillermo Lasso (CREO party) is the only one who has confirmed his candidacy for the Presidency.
