“This is how they try to defeat and silence us. We are not afraid of them!”
Congresswoman Marcela Aguiñaga announced that, along with Marcela Holguin and Gabriela Rivadeneira, they were notified of the start of an investigation against them for the alleged crime of instigation during the October protests.
“This is how they try to defeat and silence us. We are not afraid of them!”, Aguiñaga tweeted.
She explained that the investigation begins due to their participation in a press conference at the National Assembly. “Neither Marcela nor I gave statements and, if we had given them, we are invested with parliamentary immunity.”
Aguiñaga believes this process is further evidence that “the empire of terror governs, which considers that opposition members should be intimidated with investigations and prosecutions.”
