Until Dec. 19, Ecuador’s consulates in Bogota, Lima, and Caracas have issued 2,973 visas for Venezuelan citizens to enter the country.
Ecuadorian Government has granted 9,001 visas for Temporary Residence of Exception for Humanitarian Reasons to Venezuelan citizens in the last three months, as part of the regularization process.
This process, which will conclude on March 31, 2020, aims to apply Decree 826, which establishes the requirements for foreigners to accept the measure that also exempted from fines those who exceeded 180 days of legal stay in the country.
Meanwhile, the Foreign Affairs Ministry reported that until December 19, the consulates of Ecuador in Bogota, Lima, and Caracas have issued 2,973 visas for Venezuelan citizens to enter the country.
According to Government Ministry’s data, 358,500 Venezuelan citizens have not registered their departure from Ecuador. But non-governmental organizations estimate that the population can exceed 400,000, as dozens of Venezuelans enter the country across borders.
