The Minister of Health, Ximena Garzón, denounced that two private companies made alleged charges for immunizing their workers against Covid-19. According to preliminary information, a financial contribution was requested from the workers to include family members in the vaccination process.
Garzón stressed that the vaccination is completely free and said that, on Friday, July 9, she already filed the corresponding complaint with the State Attorney General’s Office, for which it will be the justice authorities who determine responsibilities in this case.
“We sent a complaint to the Prosecutor’s Office yesterday. The Prosecutor’s Office will investigate the case and gather information and take the pertinent measures, but we, as the Ministry of Health, have reported this case to the Prosecutor’s Office, ”said the Minister this Saturday, after receiving the first dose of the vaccine. .
Similarly, she assured that the private company can only help with supplies and material to facilitate vaccination, but that it cannot make any charges to immunize its workers.
“We have released official statements in which we, together with the private company, guarantee that the vaccination is completely free, people do not have to pay a dollar for the vaccine. The President of the Republic has been very emphatic, the vaccine is supportive, the vaccine is completely free, as the government we are acquiring vaccines so that they reach all citizens ”.
