Ecuadorian workers progressively return to face-to-face work

The NATIONAL COE announced that as of this Thursday, July 1, 2021, the plan for the progressive return of workers will be applied to public and private institutions in the country, under biosafety measures.

This was ratified by the president of the National COE, Juan Zapata, in a press conference this morning in which the Minister of Health, Ximena Garzón, and the Minister of Labor, Patricio Donoso, also participated.

The authorities clarified the people who have already been vaccinated with the two doses of the vaccine, and after 15 days of its application, they will also be part of this return; while for July 19 it is expected that the Ministry of Health will send the COE the data regarding the risk of occupational contagion.

On the other hand, the Minister of Health announced the implementation of a statistical tool to calculate the risk that a worker has of becoming infected and, according to these figures, increase or decrease the capacity in the institutions.

She added that these figures will be analyzed every 15 days, which will make it possible to increase or reduce capacity in all companies in which the progressive return to presence is already applied.
