(Prensa Latina) Former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on Tuesday portended a President Jair Bolsonaro´s defeat in forthcoming 2022 elections because Brazilians want a leader who thinks of the majority.
‘Bolsonaro is going to lose coming 2022 elections, and he will not lose them to Lula, to the Workers’ Party (PT). He will be defeated by the Brazilian people, who are fed up with so much nonsense,’ Lula said in a video posted on social media. Lula insisted that Bolsonaro will be defeated at the polls ‘by the Brazilian people, who want to rebuild their hope and quality of life.’
Brazilian people want their children to study, eat and work. ‘There are other things a people expect from a president,’ Lula stated.
‘People need someone who really loves Brazil, someone who rules with the majority in mind. People don’t want more fights, they don’t want more hatred,’ Lula stressed.
An investigation by IPEC Institute recently disclosed that Lula would win the 2022 elections in the first ballot with 49%, 26% more than Bolsonaro. Such a study showed that Lula has 11% more than total sum of his possible opponents.
According to the poll, Bolsonaro, whose popularity is increasingly on the skids, would have only 23% support in an electoral dispute with former President Lula.
