In Ecuador older people with prioritized diseases will receive their Covid vaccine until June 6

The Ministry of Health recommended that citizens over 50 years of age in serious conditions, with disabilities or prioritized diseases approach the designated points to receive the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

The ministry indicated that they must do so according to the last digit of their identity card, between the week of May 31 to June 6.

For example, this Wednesday, June 2, it is recommended to go to the vaccination points for citizens whose ID ends in 5 and 6; Thursday 3, to those that culminate in 7 and 8; and on Friday the 4th, to the digits 9 and 0.

Those who did not get to receive the dose between Monday and Friday, will be able to do so on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6.

The Ministry of Health also reported that the prioritized diseases in citizens over 50 years of age are obesity, chronic cardiovascular disease, moderate or severe chronic respiratory disease, type 1 and 2 diabetes mellitus, chronic kidney disease, chronic liver disease, HIV, immunosuppressed people. .

The first dose may also be applied to those over 50 years of age who suffer from sickle cell diseases, who have a transplant of solid organs or blood stem cells, chronic neurological disease, Down syndrome, among others.
