(Prensa Latina) The Covid-19 vaccination campaign in Bolivia is advancing on Monday at a good pace, with over 1,106,000 doses administered since the beginning of the mass immunization in late February, according to data from the Ministry of Health and Sports.
Health workers, senior citizens and other prioritized vulnerable groups have been administered the first or second shot of the different vaccines purchased by the country to this end.
Through bilateral negotiations with countries such as Russia, China and India, or through the Covax mechanism (fund for the global access to Covid-19 vaccines), Bolivia has vaccines Sputnik V, Sinopharm, AstraZeneca and Pfizer in stock.
In order to reinforce the availability of the vaccines and move ahead with mass immunization, another 331,200 doses of Sinopharm arrived in the country on Monday, and the arrival of another 100,000 doses of Sputnik V is expected in the coming days.
‘Here are all the vaccines we have committed to, now the task is to vaccinate and finish with all the stock we have and vaccinate all the people we can,’ President of Bolivia Luis Arce said.
