This Tuesday, May 04, 2021, express vaccination was implemented, a system that seeks to inoculate users from their vehicles in Parque Samanes, in Guayaquil.
The President of the Republic, Lenín Moreno, was present at the site, who assured that the purpose of this service is “to serve, mainly, elderly and disabled people, to facilitate their mobilization and access to inoculation.”
However, this service would be exclusively for those older adults who go to get vaccinated in a car, while people who do not have this possibility, will continue to do so on foot.
In addition, he affirmed that during this immunization day 65,000 citizens will be inoculated.
For his part, the Minister of Health, Camilo Salinas, explained that the time for inoculation does not exceed 20 minutes.
According to the Communication Secretariat of the Presidency, Ecuador is the second country in Latin America to apply this mechanism.
On the other hand, complaints about the lack of vaccination of the elderly persist, by users through social networks.
For example, Carla Garcés, a microbiologist, claimed that neither her 67-year-old father, nor her mother, who has a catastrophic disease, have not yet been vaccinated.
