Russian, Argentine officials strengthen bilateral cooperation

(Prensa Latina) Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov and a delegation from the Argentine government led by Economy Minister Martin Guzman analyzed options for strengthening bilateral cooperation, it was reported in Moscow on Tuesday.

During the meeting in this capital, the two sides reviewed the current state of the economic relations between the two nations, as well as the Russian-Argentine interaction with multilateral organizations, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted.

According to Telam news agency, Argentine presidential advisor Cecilia Nicolini also participated in the meeting on Monday, in which the challenges of middle-income countries for a sustainable recovery to fight the Covid-19 pandemic were addressed.

The Russian delegation also showed interest in the possibility of investing in strategic sectors of Argentina, such as energy and infrastructure, the Argentine delegation indicated.

During her stay in Russia, Nicolini visited the Gamaleya Scientific Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, which produces the Sputnik V vaccine to fight the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes the disease.

Argentine media informed that before leaving Moscow on Wednesday, Guzman will meet with Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, directors of the Direct Investment Fund, the Central Bank and Russian businessmen.
