(Prensa Latina) Social movements will take to the streets to protest in support for Covid-19 vaccination for all Brazilians, claiming the fight against hunger and demanding President Jair Bolsonaro´s dismissal.
Brasil Popular and Povo Sem Medo (People without Fear) parties, ¨Bolsonaro Out¨ and ¨We Want Basic Rent¨ campaigns, opposition parties, trade unions and other organizations also called for a R$600 (US$108) emergency relief per month.
‘It will be the national day of struggle and awareness: vaccine in the arm and food on the plate,’ Gleisi Hoffmann, the Workers’ Party president, tweeted.
Hoffmann assured that ‘social movements and trade unions unite in the defense of both R$600 income through the end of the pandemic and the speed of vaccination.
Only with this mobilization we will win the genocidal government! #ForaBolsonaro ‘, she tweeted.
The text insisted that popular groups and civil society organizations continue the national mobilization in protest of the criminal way in which Bolsonaro and his government lead the fight against the pandemic and the return of the country to the hunger map.
After four months without receiving any assistance, Bolsonaro´s new proposal helps just few people, for less time and with an amount that cannot buy even half of staples, the text read.
‘Brazil keeps going through appalling economic and health crisis, walking by leaps and bounds towards half a million Covid-19 deaths.’
