(Prensa Latina) Venezuela on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding on the provision of assistance with the United Nations (UN) World Food Program (WFP).
Both parties reached the agreement at the Miraflores Palace in Caracas after a meeting held between Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and WFP´s Director David Beasley.
Maduro highlighted the rapprochement process that led to the signing of the cooperation agreement to initially carry out support and food assistance programs for children.
‘All Venezuelans support this step we have taken by signing this first agreement with the WFP,’ said Maduro, highlighting the vast global experience and technical capacity of the organization.
Likewise, he reiterated Venezuela´s commitment to be in constant contact with the WFP to pave the way to new openings and projects.
