The National Emergency Operations Committee (COE) announced new measures for the following days due to the increase in infections and the saturation of hospitals.
The president of the organization, Juan Zapata, released the details of these measures, given the alarming figures provided by the Ministry of Health.
Resolutions of the national COE of April 14, 2021:
-Keep teleworking in force in the Executive function and other functions and the private sector are urged to accept this provision.
-Educational units that do not have authorized pilot plans must continue with virtual education.
-To the 8 provinces that were decreed a state of exception, now Zamora, Santa Elena and Los Río are incorporated. Now there are 11 provinces in total that are under permanent epidemiological surveillance.
-Keep face-to-face classes suspended in the 11 provinces
-Maintain the suspension of massive events nationwide
-Prohibit the circulation of private vehicles on the state road network from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the month of April.
-Order the mayors of the 11 provinces to restrict mobility from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. on weekends, for 15 days.
-Invite judges of the Constitutional Court to explain the health situation and the requirement of exceptional measures and restriction of rights.
-To have the Ministry of Health regulate the cost of PCR tests, taking into account that there are different prices.
