The Secretary General of the Cabinet of the Presidency, Jorge Wated, apologized “for all the inconveniences caused in these days”, in a message about the registration process for the vaccination of older adults against the coronavirus.
Wated explained that the collapse of the website is due to a “disproportionate entry of people who are not included in this phase”, so he asks citizens not to try to register if it is not yet their phase.
According to Wated, so far there are 200.000 people registered, despite the inconveniences presented.
Regarding the elderly who receive vouchers, retirees from the IESS and residents of rural areas, he explained that these people do not need to register through the website, since the authorities are in charge of their registration.
«We take care of your registration and you will receive a text message or a confirmation email indicating that you are already registered. If you have not received this message or email within 72 hours, you can contact 171 to indicate that you have not received that confirmation and immediately a team will enable your registration ».
The Cabinet Secretary said that for the inhabitants of rural areas, infocentres were set up around the country to carry out the registration.
