Andrés Arauz leads the intention to vote for the elections in Ecuador

According to a post-electoral study carried out by the pollster Profiles de Opinion and focused on the decision of the citizens for the second round of April 11, the candidate for UNES, Andrés Arauz, leads the intention to vote with 43.15% compared to 23.75% of Guillermo Lasso, candidate for CREO-PSC.

This survey was conducted with 4.065 people in Pichincha, Guayas, Manabí, Azuay, Los Ríos, Tungurahua, part of the Sierra, Costa and Amazon region. The study was applied to men and women between the ages of 18 and 65, who voted in the February 7 elections; has ± 1.5 margin of error and was applied from February 20 to 24, 2021.

After analyzing the results, it was concluded that 43.15% of those surveyed would choose Arauz; while 23.75% would vote for Lasso. On the other hand, 25.74% preferred the null vote and the remaining 7.37% indicated that they would vote blank.

In Pichincha, 32.63% prefer the candidate for CREO-PSC, while 28.51% would vote for the presidential candidate for UNES.

In Guayas, as in the first round, the population would opt, for the ballot, for Andrés Arauz in a percentage of 53.80; compared to 18.34% of Lasso.

In Azuay (39.77%); Los Ríos (60.54%); and Manabí (57.79%), the young economist also leads the intention to vote, above the Guayaquil businessman who has 19.16% in Azuay; 23.47% in Los Ríos; and 15.82% in Manabí.

Regarding the credibility of the candidates, of the total respondents, 43.95% believe in Arauz, while 23.93% consider that Lasso has greater credibility.
