Ecuador registers 296.841 cases of COVID-19 and 16.105 deaths

Ecuador reports 1.727 new infections and 36 more deaths in the last 24 hours. This March 10, 2021, the country adds a total of 296.841 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 16.105 deaths due to the pandemic.

According to the latest report from the Ministry of Health, there are 11.318 people died with a positive diagnosis and 4.787 died with suspicion of carrying the respiratory virus.

Hospital occupancy has not decreased and its daily variation is slight. This Wednesday there are 820 stable hospitalized patients and 534 with a reserved prognosis. In total, there are 1.354 interned in one day. It is more than two weeks that the country has more than 1.300 patients. There is not only a waiting list for the Intensive Care Units (ICU), now also for hospitalization.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the country has 256.009 recovered patients, representing 86.93% of the total infected.

Pichincha registers 510 new infections and 10 more deaths in the last 24 hours. The province has a total of 103.105 diagnosed with the virus and 2.683 deaths. Quito adds 446 more infected and the total number of cases in the capital rises to 95.214.
