Ecuador reports 212 new infections and 21 more deaths in the last 24 hours. This March 1, 2021, the country begins the month with 286.367 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 15.832 deaths due to the pandemic.
February had 35.169 infections this month, which represents a decrease of almost 3.000 infections, compared to January, which had 38.316 cases of COVID-19.
According to the latest report from the Ministry of Health, 11.078 people died with a positive diagnosis and 4.754 died with suspicion of carrying the respiratory virus.
This Monday, there is a slight decrease in hospital occupancy, after having more than 1.400 hospitalized in one day. Today there are 837 stable internees and 524 with a reserved prognosis. In total, there are 1.361 patients. While 80 more people were discharged from hospital.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 247.898 people have recovered from the disease, which represents 86.63% of the total infected. In the last week, from February 22 to 28, there were 9.081 more recovered.
