The government of Nicolás Maduro proposed in 2018 the plan “Vuelta a la patria”, with which 22.935 Venezuelans have returned to their country.
86 Venezuelan migrants who were in Ecuador returned to their country thanks to a government plan called: “Vuelta a la patria”, as was announced by the official spokesmen of the government of Nicolás Maduro.
Venezuelan citizens arrived in Caracas on a flight from the city of Guayaquil, detailed the Venezuelan Ministry of Communications.
According to the authorities, more than 400.000 Venezuelans have asked their government to be part of the “Vuelta a la patria” plan to return to their country. As of last Monday, February 1, 2021, 22.935 citizens have returned.
On the other hand, according to the United Nations (UN), more than 5 million Venezuelans have left their country, due to the terrible crisis that has plagued it for several years. Therefore, since 2018 the government proposed the plan “Return to the homeland”, to help many citizens stranded in other countries.
Most of the Venezuelan migrants returned from the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Italy and Spain.
