Burmese military suspends international air traffic until June 2021

This Monday, February 1, the military coup in Burma informed the world that the country is “closed” to international air traffic until next June.

In an official statement, the Burmese army, which staged a coup by considering that the past elections were a fraud, confirmed that takeoffs and landings at its international airports were suspended until May 31, 2021.

For their part, the international embassies that are in the country have informed their citizens that flights are suspended until April 30, 2021. The airports have not yet received any notification of closure.

Last Monday, February 1, 2021, shortly before the new parliament of Burma was positioned, the military decided to carry out a coup by being against the last elections in November, where the winners were the members of the League. National for Democracy (LND).

The coup leaders declared a state of emergency throughout the country for a period of one year, for which they reported that once this period is over there may be new elections in the country and there will be a peaceful transfer of power.
