Electoral kits are already in 18 provinces of Ecuador

The electoral kits for the elections this Sunday, February 7, are already in 18 provinces of the country. This was reported by the General of the Armed Forces Fabián Fuel Revelo, in the press conference offered this morning by the authorities of the CNE, National COE, Armed Forces, National Police and National Transit Agency.

The commander explained that the electoral packages will be distributed, this Wednesday, February 3, in the provinces of Azuay and Santo Domingo; While on Thursday, February 4, they will be delivered in Carchi, Imbabura, Esmeraldas and Pichincha.

Regarding the ballots of Andean parliamentarians, who suffered a delay in their printing due to legal and administrative procedures, the general explained that these are already in 8 provinces of Ecuador and assured that until this Friday, February 5, they will be delivered throughout the country.

He stressed that the mission of the Armed Forces is the security and protection of the electoral facilities, as well as the security and protection of the transportation of electoral material.

He added that during the electoral day, the forces of order will protect the polling stations, as well as the electoral precincts.

“We will continue to provide security to the provincial delegations until two days after the announcement of the electoral results,” added Fuel Revelo.

For his part, the president of the National COE, Juan Zapata pointed out that as part of the operation for Sunday, February 7, 17 unified command posts will be activated at the national level, and 1,100 cameras will be monitoring the main electoral precincts.

He explained that 280 thousand acquired tests have been acquired that are already applied free of charge to the members of the voting receiving boards.

Marco Villegas, electoral coordinator of the National Police clarified that 47 thousand 13 police officers will be deployed who will be in charge of providing security in the electoral precincts.
