Ecuador reported 1.176 new cases of coronavirus in just 24 hours, when a day before this range was 325.
According to the Ministry of Health, there are 259.783 cases confirmed with PCR tests, while 258.607 were registered on Monday.
Statistics reveal that 220.398 patients recovered, 29.887 were discharged from hospital, 606.512 cases were discarded, and 15,086 people died (10.387 confirmed with PCR tests and 4.699 probable).
The death toll also increased compared to February 8, when 15.013 fatalities were reported (10.319 confirmed with PCR tests and 4.694 probable).
In 24 hours, 68 people died from coronavirus and 5 probably from this disease.
The provinces with the highest number of cases are: Pichincha with 91.018 cases; Guayas with 32.750; and Manabí with 18.253.
