More than 4.200 Ecuadorians have not yet received the second dose against Covid-19 and there are no more vaccines

The first batch Pfizer-BioNTech will not be applied at 21 days for all, due to lack of medication, although some experts indicate that you can wait up to 42 days.

The Government announced that the second shipment from Pfizer-BioNTech with 16.300 vaccines to combat Covid-19 will arrive in the country next week. With these doses it is expected to culminate with the vaccination of people who were part of the zero phase or pilot plan.

As indicated by the Ministry of Health, with the first shipment of vaccines the booster would be applied to 1.962 people throughout the country, since specialists concluded that, with the Pfizer-BioNTech drug, a second dose should be applied at 21 days , but more than 4.200 Ecuadorians will not receive this vaccine because they have not yet arrived in the country.

In addition, the Minister of Health was questioned for delivering several vaccines to a private gerontological center, where he acknowledged that he had several relatives, and for that reason he faces a criminal complaint and two impeachment proceedings.
