The National Assembly of Venezuela ordered an investigation that determined how the economic resources of the legislature were used by the opposition in the previous period.
Leopoldo López and his family closed the rental of a house in Madrid, Spain, for almost 10.000 euros, according to Spanish media. The leader of Voluntad Popular (VP) is a fugitive from Venezuelan justice, after starring in a movie escape through Colombia last October.
The government of Nicolás Maduro accuses Leopoldo López of attempting a coup in the company of Juan Guaidó in April 2019. Since then one of the leaders of the Venezuelan opposition took refuge in the Spanish embassy in Venezuela.
Finding a home in Madrid was not easy for the López Tintori family, who were rejected by several owners who did not want a media revolt on their properties.
For its part, the new National Assembly of Venezuela ordered an investigation to determine what the opposition did in the previous period with the money that the legislature handled. According to the ruling party, several leaders and close associates of Juan Guaidó acquired great wealth in a short time.
