Quito registered 111 clandestine parties last weekend

The National COE will work on measures that stop the agglomerations in the cities of: Quito, Guayaquil, Cuenca and Tulcán.

The last weekend between January 15 and 17, 111 clandestine parties were registered in Quito, according to Juan Zapata, president of the National COE and director of the ECU 911. The capital has occupied 96% of its Intensive Care Units (ICU) and it also keeps long waiting lists.

These clandestine parties have had youth and alcohol consumption as protagonists, according to the official. On the other hand, it was also reported that the Quito security services have managed to identify 1.152 libadores.

On the other hand, Zapata confirmed that the National COE is working on measures to curb agglomerations in the cities where these cases are most registered: Quito, Guayaquil, Cuenca and also Tulcán.

The agglomerations have also been registered because of political campaigns, for which reason the authorities of the National COE will ask those of the CNE to “respect” the controls previously established.

The authorities reminded citizens not to relax biosecurity measures, because cases of Covid-19 infections continue to increase. Until this Monday, January 18, 2021, Ecuador registers 231.644 positive cases.
