The teachers claim that the breach of this right harms them financially and does not allow them to apply for administrative positions.
“Minister listens, teachers in the fight”, “Creamer unfulfilled”, were some of the slogans shouted by the teachers who expressed their discomfort, because they feel affected by this breach that they denounce.
At the end of 2020, the coordinator of the National Front for the Rights of Recategorized Teachers, José Viracohca, demanded that the State recognize the work of the teacher, with the recategorization and payment of their salaries.
The teachers, in 2018, approved a recategorization process to move up each year, according to the leader. In 2019 they went up in category, but since January of the previous year they have not received responses from the Government. Viracocha claimed that the process is stalled at the Ministry of Finance.
The coordinator explained that the recategorization process takes one year. During this period, the work experience and training of each teacher is evaluated and collected. “We had to get master’s degrees by investing and the State does not recognize us,” he protested.
