Survey reveals that 30% of citizens fear going to vote due to risk of contagion

The need for the CNE to carry out a campaign to motivate Ecuadorians to go to the polls is revealed, guaranteeing all biosecurity measures.

Santiago Pérez, director of Social Climate, released the results of the latest survey carried out a few days from February 7, among them it is revealed that almost 30% of those consulted fear going to the polls due to the risk of contagion.

He stressed the need for the electoral body to carry out a campaign to motivate the vote, guaranteeing all biosecurity measures because in this process, unlike others that have been carried out, the CNE has not informed the population how it should be, even for the candidates to be known.

He also indicated that citizens are demanding the number of presidential candidates who will participate in this contest and who seek to reach Carondelet: “This is the reflection of an institutional disaster.”

He mentioned that all the confusion generated by the number of candidates for the Presidency started in the transitory CNE, which qualified organizations without meeting the requirements. This reflects that 3 out of 10 people are undecided; Despite this, he indicated that Andrés Arauz is in first place with 30.1% of voting intention, followed by Guillermo Lasso with 21.5% and Yaku Pérez with 17.2%.

“These three candidates are representatives of a political tendency that represent important groups that is understood.”

Regarding the candidates for the National Assembly, Pérez reported that the survey shows that UNES would have 30 secure seats, followed by CREO with 16, Pachakutik with 13, Partido Social Cristiano with 8, and the rest with less than 3 or nothing.
