Germany begins new confinement with record of deaths from Covid-19

In the last 24 hours the country reported 952 deaths from coronavirus.

This Wednesday, December 16, 2020, Germany reported a record number of deaths in the last 24 hours. The Robert Koch Institute also confirmed 27.728 new cases of infections across the country.

Germany expressed its concern when registering 952 deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, for which, the country has begun a partial confinement with the closure of non-essential shops, schools and movement restrictions.

For their part, the authorities hope that this new confinement will last until January 10 and people will respect the proposal to “stay at home.” The government also asked citizens not to travel either inside or outside the country.

Another regulation states that only 5 people from two different homes can meet indoors, but just for Christmas the capacity could be increased to 9 people from two different homes.

The country is also facing a worrying situation in its hospitals, although it is true they have not reached the top, but its ICU capacity is already 83% occupied.
