This year, the country received USD 757.6 million in loans from this entity and the public debt is around USD 60.000 million.
On the afternoon of this Thursday, December 17, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Mauricio Pozo, announced that Ecuador received a new disbursement from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) for USD 111.5 million.
The money corresponds to three credit operations that the Government requested from this entity. USD 53 million will have to be invested in supporting health provision services in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic and USD 58.5 million in projects related to the development of the country’s energy sector.
The Minister of Economy, Mauricio Pozo, indicated that this new loan has very beneficial conditions for the country, but did not specify how many years it was given, or the amount of interest.
