United States Congress approves economic aid package

The vote was delayed, but unanimous between Democratic and Republican lawmakers.

This Sunday, December 20, 2020, the United States Congress approved a package of measures that proposes a stimulus of USD 900 million, so that people can face and overcome the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The congressmen were very happy to tell the public that more financial aid is on the way. The agreement was unanimous between Democratic and Republican legislators.

Although the agreement between the Democrats and Republicans was unanimous, there are also several parts of the political sectors that are concerned about this new agreement. From the Democratic side they believe that this agreement is a way to “tie” the hands of the Federal Reserve and limit the possibilities of the incoming president, Joe Biden.

On the other hand, Republicans consider that their political rivals are only trying to extend the economic emergency exemptions until 2021 to have uncontrolled funds.

The experts had asked the congress for an emerging economic plan, because the economic recovery was stagnating in the country and the negotiations between politicians were not advancing.

The president-elect, Joe Biden, and also the current president, Donald Trump, have applauded the decision of the Congress to give economic aid to citizens.
