Maria Paula Romo defended the police work.
Government Minister Maria Paula Romo appeared before the National Assembly Multiparty Commission that investigates the facts of the national strike in October.
Romo said demonstrations were the product of detailed planning, in which October 12 was the key day for the coup d’etat, as well as for the Government impeachment. She added that the plan included the installation of an assembly called Peoples’ Parliament.
She said that among measures was the cutting of the food supply, as well as the statement of CONAIE leader Jaime Vargas, who asked the Armed Forces to withdraw their support to the Government.
The Minister also defended the Police work pointing out that their actions were impeccable.
