“We have to repeat the mobilizations, although those who believed that they had already affected workers’ rights do not like it.”
Frente Popular (Popular Front) leaders announced that they would carry out a new mobilization for November 15 against economic reforms and the 2020 budget, presented by the Government.
“A popular mobilization is a tool that workers have to demand respect for rights,” recalled the organization leader Juan Cervantes at a press conference in Guayaquil.
“Now, with what they are proposing in the pro forma budget and law to affect us, it implies that we have to repeat the mobilizations, although those who believed that they had already affected workers’ rights do not like it,” he said.
The pro forma budget for 2020 is set at USD 35,499 million. According to several legislators and political activists, there are several cuts in sectors such as education and health.
