The hearing is scheduled for November 11.

National Judge Daniella Camacho lifted the preventive detention against Pamela Martinez and Laura Teran, both linked in the 2012-2016 Bribes case. Now, they will comply with the periodic presentation before the authority, the prohibition of leaving the country and the use of electronic devices.

Camacho called this diligence for last week. Subsequently, the reinstatement of the preparatory trial hearing scheduled for October 31 was postponed.

These delays were justified by the judge due to the disqualification requests, which were requested by the lawyers of former President Rafael Correa and former administration secretary Vinicio Alvarado. With this appeal, it was sought that the judge ceases to know the case since there would be several irregularities in this process.

Martinez and Teran are protected witnesses of the Prosecutor’s Office. Their notebooks and Excel files are used by the Prosecutor’s Office as evidence against former government officials.
