France: Policemen who beat Michel Zecler were charged

The uniformed men are accused of “voluntary violence” and “voluntary violence by a person deposited with public authority.”

The 4 policemen implicated in the violence against the music producer, Michel Zecler, were charged with various crimes and two of them are in custody. The event was described as a “shame” by President Emmanuel Macron.

Three of the four policemen who attacked Michel Zecler were accused of “voluntary violence by a person depositary of public authority” and also for “lying in a public deed”, responding favorably to the request of the Paris Prosecutor’s Office.

Zecler was beaten by the police at the entrance of his study for 5 minutes and was also the victim of racist insults. The producer asked for help from the musicians who were in the place, who managed to free him from the uniformed.

A policeman threw a tear gas grenade into the studio, for which he was accused of “voluntary violence” against Zecler and also against the nine musicians who were in the establishment.
