They demand a meeting with President Lenin Moreno to analyze the correction of the Regulation that conditions the granting of definitive appointments
This Monday, November 30, 2020, health professionals protested to demand job stability, approved in the Humanitarian Law, but which cannot be applied by the Regulation prepared by the Executive.
Those who fought and continue to fight the COVID-19 pandemic in the country in the front row disagree with Article 10 and 40 of the Humanitarian Law Regulations, which conditions the hiring of health professionals who worked during the most critical days of the pandemic.
After various demands, claims, demonstrations and meetings, the Government maintained the two articles questioned in the Regulations. The Ministry of Labor issued agreement 232, which leaves it to the discretion of the human talent units of the Comprehensive Health Network to grant the definitive appointments of doctors, nurses and assistants.
Danny Choez, one of the affected doctors, said that there are official letters presented to President Lenín Moreno, as well as several commissions in the Assembly to work on an agreement, but he regretted that none of these options have been considered.
