The Covid-19 pandemic continues to wreak havoc in Ecuador, in the last week of November 14 to 21, 5 provinces registered increases in positive cases of coronavirus.
The provinces that registered an increase in infected citizens are: Galápagos, Pichincha, Morona Santiago, Bolívar and Cotopaxi.
According to data from the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), in the last week Galápagos reported 258 infections, that is, 25 more than the week of November 7 to 14, where the infected reached 233.
In the last week, Pichincha also registered an increase of more than 2.000 cases, due to the fact that the latest data reports that the province has 66.558 positive cases and at the end of the week from 7 to 14 it had 64.000 cases.
Morona Santiago also registers an increase of 92 positive cases, due to the fact that it reported 3.235 infections and previously had reached 3.143. The panorama in the province of Bolívar is not very different, because, in the week of November 21, it reached 2.290 infected and previously reported 2.196 infected.
For its part, the province of Cotopaxi continues to increase its positive cases, reaching 4.934, compared to the previous figures of 4.761 infections.
The authorities report that the provinces will continue to report increases in cases due to community contagion and call on people to respect biosecurity measures such as avoiding crowds and social distance of 2 meters.
