She questioned that today Ecuadorian justice “is being handled through the excessive use of preventive detention”

Congresswoman Marcela Aguiñaga criticized justice management and commented that the Prefect of Pichincha, Paola Pabon “is arbitrarily detained.” In her opinion, “it is clear that they hope to take Pichincha’s Prefecture by storm.”

“To an authority of popular election was issued excessive preventive detention.” The legislator criticized the investigation carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office against Pabon for the alleged crime of rebellion.

She explained that the Prefect relatives came to the tables with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) representatives. On October 30, one of the delegates will visit the Prefect in Latacunga.

What they ask is that she be allowed to defend herself in freedom. “What they want is for 60 days to pass, Paola is deprived of freedom and Pichincha Prefecture is taken by assault. We believe that is the intention of the Government,” she said.
