The independent assembly member, Roberto Gómez Alcivar, once again denounced that their conversations were allegedly being intervened by the DGI’s Director of Operations, who would also have instructions to follow assembly members, journalists and judges. As indicated by the assemblyman, this would have been given by order of the Minister of Government, María Paula Romo.
At the beginning of September, the legislator already denounced that the Intelligence Directorate of the National Police was intercepting, without judicial authorization, communications from opposition politicians, assembly members and journalists.
Due to the fact that there is no official response, Gómez sent, again, an official letter addressed to the Minister of Government to request a clarification on this issue and for Romo to clarify the Tcrnl assignments. Espinosa, if she directly entrusted him with this task and if the assignment of this official is related to the COSMOS computer system and the case called “PANDERÍA”
Gómez is not the only legislator who denounced intervention in his personal technological equipment, another of the interpellants of the impeachment, against the Minister of Government, Lourdes Cuesta, indicated in Pichincha Universal that their phones were tapped, but that they will not find anything.
“Beyond a meme or a funny sticker, they will get bored. I have received alerts that my phones are tapped, but beyond a joke they will not find anything ”.
Similarly, journalists Orlando Pérez and Alexis Moncayo denounced that their phones were tapped and they asked Romo to clarify this issue.
