Government speech on infiltrators in mobilizations seeks to justify the repression and persecution: David Chávez

The government and the right-wing resort to stigmatization and hatred to unleash political violence, he added.

The sociologist David Chávez stressed that the mobilizations announced for this Thursday, October 22, have nothing to do with what happened in the national strike last year, however he warned that the government’s speech indicating that there will be infiltrators wanting to generate acts of violence, it is nothing more than a justification to list the possibility of intensifying the processes of political persecution and repression.

“If the Government did not come out to make these warnings and threaten infiltrations, it would possibly pass as an unnoticed march, like those organized by the FUT and without major consequences. But the Government created a media environment with a propaganda intention”

He pointed out that these types of actions are a reaction to the results of the elections in Bolivia, since the Ecuadorian right is aware that it is not strengthened and therefore its only recourse is to resort to anti-democratic positions against the left: “They resort to stigmatization, the hatred and chaos that political violence can unleash ”.

“The key here is provocation, they try to provoke reactions from the left and thereby justify the repression.”

On this basis, he stressed that another of the lessons left by the electoral process in Bolivia is that the left cannot and should not fall into provocations, as an essential strategy in the current situation where the same General Commander of the Police, Patricio Carrillo, has openly acknowledged that they are following up on political leaders: “They are committing an illegality.”

Chávez pointed out that in Ecuador there are no subversive groups or urban guerrillas, as the Executive has mentioned to defend its position of persecution: “A year has passed since the national strike and if that were true, the assembly would have already prosecuted the actors but it is only part of a political delusion and now they retell the same fable ”.
