Assembly demands the removal of Minister María Paula Romo

She acknowledged in an appearance that she received suggestions from Mendoza and those names were later appointed to hold public office.

The National Assembly condemned the former legislator of Alianza PAIS, Daniel Mendoza, for having incurred in several prohibitions established in the Law of the Legislative Function and being involved in an alleged criminal structure that managed public offices and hospitals.

In this sense, it also resolved to demand the removal of the Minister of Government, María Paula Romo, because she was allegedly involved with Mendoza in these acts of corruption.

In this resolution, the Plenary Assembly demanded the dismissal of María Paula Romo as Minister of Government, since she recognized, during an appearance in the Multiparty Commission, that she received suggestions of names from the former assembly member under investigation who were later appointed to hold public office .

The motion was raised by the CREO assembly member, Héctor Yépez, who also demanded that the president of the Assembly, César Litardo, summon the CAL within 48 hours and process the impeachment requests that have been presented against Romo. and they are pending qualification.

In the same way, legislators will request the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) to investigate and prosecute all those involved in the Executive, the National Assembly, other public institutions and the private sector, on corruption scandals in public health , for which all actions taken by the investigating commission must be submitted.

On the other hand, the President of the Assembly was also asked to include, in the next session of plenary session No. 681, as item two of the agenda, the change of the members of the Political Oversight and Control Commission, since most of its members were denounced for corruption.
