This is due to alleged inconsistencies in the operation that was carried out in Tumbaco where weapons and rifles were found.
The Government Minister, María Paula Romo, a judge, a prosecutor and seven members of the National Police were denounced for alleged procedural fraud in an operation that took place on July 26 in Puembo, where apparently a person with two pistols was found , a rifle, feeders and more than 9,500 ammunition.
All this would have originated in the operation that was carried out in the Tumbaco Valley. The document explains that Carlos Miguel D. M., representative of the Hanrine Ecuadorian Exploration And Mining S.A. company, was resting at his home when around 7:00 a squad of the National Police arrived with a search warrant.
The authorities indicated that they obtained confidential information from a person who did not want to identify himself for fear of reprisal. This person assured that in the Puembo parish, there would be two buildings in which firearms and ammunition would be stored that would have entered the country illegally and did not have the respective documentation.
The accused would have confirmed that he had firearms, but with the respective permits. In addition, he would have emphasized that its use corresponds to sports practice, and that a rifle is an air one, so permission would not apply.
Given all this, the defense explained that in the flagrante hearing it was evident that in the police part the justifications for the weapons and ammunition were omitted, for which reason the judge ordered the prior investigation of the fact.
In the same way, the affected party asserted that this is a premeditated attack to block his activities as manager of that company
“For clear and evident private interests of the minister who will have to explain them to the country”.
Romo published the results of the operation on her social networks, also questioned the judge’s decision not to order preventive detention against the accused.
