Minister of Health affirms that Ecuador is a benchmark for managing the pandemic in Latin America

The Secretary of State refers to reports from universities such as Johns Hopkins.

Despite the fact that the number of coronavirus cases is increasing, the Minister of Health, Juan Carlos Zevallos, reported that Ecuador is a benchmark for managing the pandemic in Latin America.

The announcement was made during an interview in which he said that this conclusion was reached by several prestigious universities such as Johns Hopkins, dedicated to research in the United States.

The official commented that for this analysis the data per million inhabitants were used and that this occurs despite the highly exponential curves that were not controlled in Guayaquil, but that left them a great lesson.

In this regard, he explained that currently this situation has been sustained with the reactivation of the economy. He even expressed that when comparing Ecuador with Mexico and Panama (Central America), as well as with Peru, Bolivia and Brazil (South America), the measurement curves are lower when talking about cases per million inhabitants.
