Workers of Empresa Eléctrica Quito denounce mistreatment by Juan Sebastián Roldán

This incident was reportedly recorded on a visit by the Minister of Energy and Secretary Roldán to the company’s facilities.

In a statement, the Quito Electric Company Workers Committee denounced that on July 23, the secretary of the Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic, Juan Sebastián Roldán, mistreated and rebuked one of his colleagues on a visit to the facilities of this entity to speak about the excessive collection of the electric returns.

In the letter that is addressed to President Moreno, it was learned that Roldán would have rebuked and treated a worker of the Quito Electric Company as incompetent, when he had nothing to do with the excessive collection of payrolls, since those decisions were taken directly by Arconel.

In the same way, they indicated that those responsible for making these claims before Arconel were the managers of the electricity companies that were appointed by President Moreno and his Cabinet, but they never said anything.

“The workers of the Quito Electric Company reject the treatment of the Secretary of the Presidency and also request changes in the Company Administration. They are responsible for institutional policies, not the workers who comply with the provisions, “they stressed in the statement.
