In May, Lenín Moreno appointed new functions for whoever holds the position

The President of the Republic, Lenín Moreno, appointed Nicolás Issa Wagner as the new Secretary General of the Presidency.

With Executive Decree 1108, the President completed the order of the General Secretariat of the Presidency to Johana Pesántez, who was replacing José Agusto Briones, since November 2019. Pesantez will continue as Legal Secretary of the Presidency.

In addition, she appoints Nicolás José lssa Wagner as the new secretary. He worked in the Public Sector Real Estate Management Service (INMOBILIAR), an entity that was abolished in May of this year, within the optimization process carried out by the Government.

Now, this entity is transformed and passes from the Real Estate Management Service to the Technical Secretariat for Real Estate Management of the Public Sector, which will be attached to the Presidency. Whoever heads this new Secretariat will be appointed by the General Secretary of the Presidency.

In May of this year, with the elimination of the Anti-Corruption Secretariat, President Moreno issued Decree 1066, with which he reorganized and specified the functions of the Secretariats that are still in force.
