During these 15 years the TeleSUR network has been the voice of the oppressed, silenced and excluded peoples throughout Latin America and in the Caribbean countries.
Its constant fight against the hegemonic discourse of the mass media linked to monopoly business groups and imperial powers has made TeleSUR a communicational reference.
With professionalism and commitment, they permanently inform the citizens of the world about the interference of imperialist powers in the sovereignty of the countries of Latin America, the processes of social struggle that are increasingly silenced, the violations of human rights, the dictatorial measures that bleed to the peoples and on the attempts to destabilize the social struggle and popular power.
Thus, TeleSUR guarantees the right to information and is present in the constant battle for the emancipation of peoples. This medium has been attacked by those who defend monopoly and imperialist interests.
Many right-wing governments, in their attempt to hide information, promote fakenews or to generate media campaigns (lawfare), have hindered or prohibited the work of their correspondents and have even removed this media outlet from their grid.
In Ecuador this has not been the exception, there were several attempts by the National Government to prohibit his work, even several cable operators took his signal off the air.
For this reason, we celebrate 15 years of TeleSUR and we want them to continue accompanying the peoples and guaranteeing the right to information.
