Milk producers register a reduction in their sales due to the pandemic

They ask the authorities to carry out controls to maintain the milk chain and that the established price is complied with.

Due to the health emergency caused by the coronavirus, the situation of the country’s milk producers is complicated.

The dairy industry registers a reduction of at least 20% of the more than 6 million liters of milk produced, because with the pandemic demand fell.

According to the producers, the price of the product is 42 cents per liter, and now it is not respected.

For their part, in industry they point out that the formal sector continues to pay the price of support, but they assure that the problem is the informal ones.

Given this situation, producers ask the authorities to resume controls, in order to defend the dairy chain, which according to small producers, would be at risk.
