This Tuesday, the social network Twitter was flooded with the hashtag #BlackOutTuesday, which represents the blackout proposed by several musicians in rejection of the repression and racism that exists in the United States.

This measure is promoted by large companies in the music industry in rejection of the acts of racism perpetrated in Minneapolis, USA, when George Floyd died at the hands of a police member.

This initiative consists of not making premieres, not broadcasting music on music platforms, or publications throughout the day.

According to Diario Marca, large companies have joined this protest: Atlantic Records, Capitol Music Group, Columbia Records, Def Jam, Elektra Music Group, HitCo, Interscope Geffen A&M, Island Records, Pulse Music Group, Reservoir, Republic Records, Sony / ATV , Sony Music, Virgin EMI, Warner Records, BMG, Universal Music Group, Kobalt, Hipgnosis Songs Fund, ASCAP, Milk & Honey, Grand Hustle Records, Downtown, SESAC, Boomplay, Concord, Symphonic Distribution and others.

In this way, producers such as Columbia records demonstrated on social networks about this fact.

On her official Instagram account, Columbia spoke of June 2 as a day dedicated to reflection:

«Black Out Tuesday… is not a day off, it is a day to reflect and find ways to advance in solidarity. We continue to support each other with the black community, our staff, artists and colleagues in the music industry. Maybe with the music turned off, we can really listen.
