Mayor Jorge Yunda said that theft from the municipal company was stopped.
The Central Bank of Ecuador reported that no account of the entity has been hacked.
In a statement, the Bank indicated that it has systems protected by the highest technological security standards.
This clarification was made by the Central after the mayor of Quito, Jorge Yunda, reported on the Bank’s efforts to prevent a robbery of the coffers of the Metropolitan Public Company of Drinking Water and Sanitation, in the event of a possible hack.
The mayor filed a complaint for a cyber attack on the accounts of the municipal company.
Given this, the Bank explained that it provides technical support to the Metropolitan Company of Potable Water and Sanitation of Quito “to solve this problem as soon as possible.”
